Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC), located at the Technology Park in Kihei, Maui, Hawai‘i. Telework (from employee`s residence city and state) may be permissible subject to review and approval by Principal Investigator and RCUH. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE:  $3,500 - $4,500/Mon. 

DUTIES:  Coordinates PDC accounts payable approval and processing. Posts, balances, monitors, and reconciles internal department/division monthly ledgers, budgets, and financial reporting system reports. May prepare drafts of fiscal, procurement, and travel documents. Schedules and coordinates collection of timesheets and related documents. Ensures compliance with the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) and PDC timekeeping procedures. Conducts timekeeping audits and reports results to management for corrective action. Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents. Develops and maintains data and performs routine analyses and calculations in the processing of data for recurring internal reports, such as payroll time sheets, sick and annual leave documents, purchasing and employment documents, and/or stock and capital equipment inventories. Composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence and/or memoranda utilizing online web-based administrative/electronic forms, reports, and processes, using knowledge of established department/division policies. Prepares a range of administrative documents. Will work with PII and confidential information. 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION

Bachelor`s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.

EXPERIENCE

Three to five (3-5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

KNOWLEDGE

Strong knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office365 programs [e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams]. Knowledge of general accounting principles. Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and services ordering and inventory control. Knowledge of travel/lodging planning and scheduling.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work well with a diverse team. Strong organizational and record maintenance skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to research vendor service and product data, summarize information, and prepare reports. Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines, analyze and solve problems, and make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Ability to effectively conduct work remotely (e.g., telework) as applicable. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire and re-certify every twelve (12) months.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:   

Knowledge of UH/RCUH policies and procedures. Experience using computerized or online fiscal accounting systems. Experience using various electronic communication tools e.g. Outlook, Teams, Slack, etc. Knowledge of and work experience in government accounting and fiscal operations.
