WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

In this role, Shelter Resident Transition (SRT) Manager will provide oversight for case management support to Red Cross clients displaced and impacted by natural disasters.  They will ensure that SRT caseworkers serve as advocates for their clients and provide support to the clients as they manage their transition from the shelter to accelerate their recovery. The SRT Manager will work out of DROHQ and will itinerate between temporary disaster shelters as needed.
 

This position is located in Kahului, Maui.

 

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):    

·         Responsible for operational oversight and planning support of shelter resident transition activities (SRT Triage & SRT Casework).

·         Prepares, updates, and socializes the Shelter Resident Transition Functional Plan for the DRO.

·         Ensures the completion of the Shelter Resident Transition Triage section of the Shelter Client Information Form, in coordination with HQ Sheltering Manager, for all shelters on the DRO.

·         Provides support and guidance to the SRT Supervisor(s) leading Shelter Resident Transition in assigned shelters.

·         Facilitates regular meetings to ensure stakeholders (Sheltering, Community Engagement & Partnerships, Government Operations, DRO Housing Liaisons, Disaster Health Services, Disaster Spiritual Care, Disaster Mental Health, Disability Integration and Recovery) are informed of Shelter Resident Transition activities, including collaboration needed to support client transitions.

 

 Standard Schedule:

This is a temporary assignment expected to last 3 months to one year.

Work hours are 12 hours per day 6 days per week.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience with social services or service/program delivery.

Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft applications and other web based systems.

A drivers license is required.

Physical requirements may include the ability to sit or stand for long periods and adapt to long, irregular hours, and frequent schedule changes are required.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications): 

·         Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as needed
·         Comfort building and working with spreadsheets, including experience and skill utilizing formulas in Excel.
·         Prior Disaster Case Management experience is highly preferred. 
·         Experience working with clients facing homelessness, catastrophic injury, or trauma high preferred.
·         Ability to manage large, complex caseloads
·         Some supervisory experience is desirable but not required
