Responsible for all aspects of corporate accounting, payroll auditing/collection and employer control functions. Oversee the payroll audit/collections and employer control staff. Ensure accounting, audit/collection and employer control records are properly maintained and reports are issued timely. Ensure company’s compliance with client policies and regulatory requirements.

Skills /Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred
  • Payroll audit experience a plus
  • 5+ years of financial and operational management
  • Proven effectiveness managing others and team-building
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures and internal controls
  • SAGE 100 experience or similar accounting system is preferred
  • Budgeting, financial analysis and cash flow monitoring experience is required
  • Payroll and tax preparation experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to meeting deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and 10-key by touch

Duties

  • Oversee the corporate accounting, payroll audit/collection and employer control staff
  • Prepare administrative fee and expense reimbursement billings to client fund
  • Prepare financial statements, variance analysis and journal entries
  • Review payroll processing
  • Process and/or review cash disbursements and cash receipts
  • Reconcile and/or review bank statements
  • Prepare financial analysis report and coordinate annual profitability analysis
  • Prepare and update budget and cash flow projections
  • Coordinate tax planning and return preparation process with corporate tax CPA firm
  • File tax returns
  • Prepare reports to regulatory and governmental agencies as required
  • Coordinate with company’s operating departments and clients’ service providers to fulfill client requests or decisions
  • Work with corporate and client providers on accounting and compliance issues
  • Ensure timely production and completion of payroll audits in compliance with audit cycles
  • Communicate, coordinate and timely report on collection items with client trust funds’ collection attorney
  • Coordinate audits for client trust funds, reviewing the audited financials and tax return
  • Ensure participants’ work hours and contributions reported by signatory employers are updated
  • Ensure employer remittances are in compliance with terms of the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Update contract rates, determining eligibility and coordinating benefit payments for applicable funds
  • Ensure positive employer and participant client service
  • Prepare and administer written performance reviews and goals
  • Maintain and update departments task and training documentation
  • Perform Payroll Audit duties as necessary
  • Perform Employer Control duties as necessary
  • Cross train with and assist Trust Controller as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
