JOB TITLE: Patient Services Representative
REPORTS TO: Lead Patient Services Representative
The Patient Services Representative helps to maintain efficient workflow in administering the day to day activities of the health center front office. It involves many responsibilities from providing excellent customer service, collecting patient demographic information, verifying and checking insurance and eligibility, coordinating referrals, and managing provider schedules.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent. A level of post-secondary education is preferred. A minimum of one year working in a medical office with knowledge of medical terminology and basic knowledge of common medications and billing procedures is preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provides superior customer service to patients and associates in person, on the telephone, and via text-messaging and email
Operates in assigned role(s) in accordance with job duties, policies and procedures
Verify patient’s demographic information
Ensures adequate supply of all patient service forms
Maintains high quality of service even during peak service times
Accurately processes registration documents and indexes in a timely manner
Ensures medical records are prepared for the next day appointments
Assists with productivity and working with the clinical staff and medical providers
Continually work with clinical team to identify ways to provide efficient and effective care
Maintain an effective and efficient work environment
Maintains clean, presentable, and safe/clutter-free patient areas (reception area, waiting room, walk areas, etc.)
Ability to multitask and critically think through daily workflow, appropriately prioritizing tasks at hand
Other duties as assigned
