POSITION TITLE:  DIRECTOR OF MEMBER SERVICES

DEPARTMENT:  MEMBER SERVICES 

FUNCTION

Responsible for the overall management and administration of HBR Member Services including:  Professional Standards (15%), Research (15%), Communications (15%), Education (15%), Member Services (10%) and Government Affairs (30%). Serves as Housing Policy resource for HBR. Member of the Executive Management Team. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Services:

  • Oversees the management and administration of Member Services areas
  • Supports Member Services managers in developing the vision, core purpose, and strategy for their respective areas
  • Oversees the budgets and financial performance of all Member Services areas
  • Oversees the development and implementation of policies related to all Member Services areas
  • Responsible for ensuring Member Services sections of the NAR Core Standards are completed annually 
  • Responsible for developing the content for Forums, Round Tables, and workshops based on input from all Member Services areas

Other Responsibilities:

  • Serves as HBR`s primary resource for all housing policy matters, including advocacy and education, and connects with non-profit and government agency housing stakeholders on Oahu
  • Responsible for overall management of HBR`s HOPE program which includes working collaboratively with Hawaii Homeownership Center
  • Responsible for management and coordination of the annual REALTOR® client recognition Aloha Aina Awards Program
  • Works closely with Membership Manager to develop and implement membership policies and procedures such as Bylaws, Emeritus, Board of Choice, membership eligibility, ethics and fair housing training requirement, ghost members, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring enforcement of the REALTOR® trademark in HBR`s jurisdiction on behalf of NAR. 
  • Attends and contributes to Executive Management Team meetings
  • Attends HBR and HiCentral MLS Board of Directors meetings
  • Attends and travels to NAR conferences as requested
  • Understands HBR Bylaws, Membership Requirements, and Governing Policies
  • Keeps abreast of matters relating to the neighbor island Board of REALTORS®, Hawaii REALTORS® and National Association of REALTORS®
  • May provide administrative support for committees, task forces, and Regional Groups determined by the CEO 
  • Use of personal vehicle for HBR business
  • Assigned to Group 1, 2 and Emergency Telecommute for office closures
  • Other duties as assigned

SCOPE OF POSITION

  • Reports to CEO
  • Works closely with Executive Management Team, department staff, and Membership Manager.
  • Extensive contact with members, Aloha Aina Partners, PR firm, advocacy consultants, government agencies, and staff of HAR, NAR and local associations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor`s degree in Business or related fields preferred
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Minimum 3 years supervising managers and employees
  • Strong leadership and conflict management skills
  • Excellent written, communication and analytical skills
  • Excellent judgement in decision making and problem solving
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diplomacy and discretion
  • Experience in budgeting and planning, and drafting policies and procedures
  • Physical demand: Ability to lift 20 lbs. and sit for long durations. 

FLSA CLASSIFICATION 

Exempt position.
