Our industry is in dire need of potential interns to become painters. Construction is booming, and we foresee no slowdown anytime soon. You will begin as a probationary paid intern at $14.00/hr for six months. When the six months are up and once you`ve shown your potential, Jade will sponsor you into the Painters Union District Council 50 as a 45% Apprentice, which includes a new wage of $19.53/hr., medical/dental and other benefits, and retirement. The Union will also enroll you in a 4-year UH accredited painter's course at Honolulu Community College. After graduating from the course, they will receive a certificate of completion, and once they reach their required 8,000 hours, they will become a journeyman painter, where they can make nearly $100,000/year. You will then aim to continue learning and improving your craft, gaining valuable skills and knowledge that will ultimately empower you to become a journeyman painter in the construction industry.
