General Description of Position:
PacMed`s Repair Technician inspects, repairs, troubleshoots and cleans rental equipment that require maintenance (e.g. respiratory equipment such as concentrators, suction machines, pulse oximeters, nebulizers, regulators, also hospital beds, wheelchairs, patient lifters, etc.) to assure proper functioning for patient use. Assembles and assists in delivery and fitting of Power & Specialty Wheelchairs and wheelchair accessories.
The Repair Technician also maintains inventory and tracks location of necessary tools and repair equipment, orders necessary parts for repairs, contacts and coordinates with the Patient on the repair or servicing of their equipment. May be required to collect payment for equipment, not covered through insurance, upon delivery.
Primary Duties:
1. DELIVER EQUIPMENT
Loads, transports and delivers Equipment according to the schedule set by the Delivery Manager.
2. EQUIPMENT SETUP AND TRAINING
Following PacMed`s Policy & Procedure, set up Equipment (PWC, Scooters, Beds, O2 Homefill, CPAP, Suction Machine, Cough Assist, etc.) in the Patient`s home. Ensure the Patient is alert, capable and understands how to operate the equipment and that it is suitable for their home.
3. EQUIPMENT OPERATION AND MAINTENENCE
Operates and maintains warehouse vehicles and equipment including pallet jack, calculator, compressor forklift, carts, trucks and other electronic devices. Maintains, organizes, and assures that delivery vehicles are operational, receive necessary maintenance, are clean and stocked with appropriate supplies, safety, personal protective and cleaning equipment and meets all regulatory standards.
4. RECORDKEEPING
Obtains requisite signatures as it pertains to PacMed Work Orders (delivery & pickup), Privacy Notice, Medicare Supplier Standards, Capped / Rental Notice, PT Rights & Responsibilities, Complaint Process, Emergency Procedures, AOB, ABN, Copay Notification, Equipment Training & Certification Checklists and any other documentation that may require a Patient`s signature.
5. CLEANING, MAINTAINING & TESTING PATIENT EQUIPMENT
In accordance with PacMed policies and procedures and manufacturer`s guideline, clean, inspect and service Patient`s Equipment / DME as scheduled and warranted. Dependent upon the equipment being serviced, utilize the appropriate checklist for inspection, repair and service; maintain documentation in the Patient`s file.
