We are committed to quality, safety, and excellence, and we are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Field Technician to join our dynamic team.

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Field Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting geotechnical investigations, testing, and quality assurance for a variety of projects. This role involves both field and laboratory work and requires a hands-on approach to data collection and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site soil, rock, and groundwater sampling using standard geotechnical techniques.
  • Perform in-situ testing and other field assessments.
  • Monitor and document field activities, including soil boring logs and site conditions.
  • Conduct laboratory testing on soil and rock samples to assess their physical and mechanical properties.
  • Operate and maintain field testing equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Work closely with project engineers, managers, and clients to communicate findings and ensure quality control.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate field and lab reports for submission to the project team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate`s or bachelor`s degree in geology, geosciences, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in geotechnical fieldwork, soil sampling, and testing is an asset but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical concepts, equipment, and testing procedures.
  • Proficiency with field and laboratory equipment, including drilling rigs, GPS devices, and soil testing tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift/move equipment as needed.
  • Valid driver`s license and reliable transportation to the company office.
