Description:

The Limahana Keʻena is the office administrative assistant responsible to organize, coordinate, schedule and perform office functions at a K-6 school. The Limahana Keʻena  serves as secretary to the Poʻokula (Head of School), and coordinates communications between administrators, school faculty and volunteers, parents, students and the general public. 

Job Duties include:

  • Serve as secretary and provide administrative assistance to the Poʻo Kula; make, schedule and arrange appointments, meetings and conferences; independently compose letters, memoranda and bulletins as directed; take and transcribe dictation as required
  • Manage incoming phone and email correspondence
  • Organize budget and financial material to maintain accurate fiscal records
  • Maintain accurate records with respect to personnel
  • Maintain regular attendance records for students and teachers

Skills & Experience:

  • Professional language and communication skills (phone etiquette, letter writing, email correspondence, reporting and note taking)
  • Conversational Hawaiian language proficiency is optimal
  • School office terminology, practices and procedures
  •  High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
  • Three years of clerical or secretarial experience
  • First Aid, Basic Lifesaving, and AED training and certification
  • Patience, courtesy, and confidentiality
