From our modest beginnings in a 500-square-foot store in 1916, KTA Super Stores and our associates remain deeply rooted in a single, quiet philosophy: to humbly serve the community that sustains us.Core ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility of a Stock Clerk is to ensure customer satisfaction by neatly and accurately stocking sales floor shelves in a timely manner, while increasing customer loyalty through courteous, pleasant, and patient service.Merchandising & Stocking: Retrieve merchandise from the store warehouse, transport it to the sales floor, display it neatly in correct locations, keep shelves fronted and well-stocked throughout the day, rotate items, and build/maintain end-cap promotion displays.Department Support & Receiving: Assist the warehouse with receiving duties, make/display signs and shelf talkers, report price label errors to POS, order merchandise, assemble customer special orders, and price, code, or red-tag merchandise as necessary.Housekeeping & Inventory: Perform hourly sweep log duties, keep aisles clear and clean, clean display shelves, maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, discard trash/cardboard, bale rubbish, pick up merchandise from other locations, make PA promotional announcements, and assist with quarterly inventory.Customer & Team Engagement: Promptly, courteously, and efficiently greet, thank, offer assistance to, and meet the needs of all customers with local warmth and hospitality. Answer incoming phone calls and pages as needed.Working Conditions & Physical DemandsEnvironment: Frequently work indoors in an air-conditioned store that may be noisy and cold with high customer/associate volume. Occasionally work outdoors (in hot, humid, or rainy conditions) or in a dusty, poorly ventilated warehouse to load/retrieve merchandise, discard trash/cardboard, or work around forklift fumes.Physical Effort: Continuously stand, walk, handle items, use fingers, and maintain corrected vision. Frequently bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and reach to stock shelves; push and pull up to 800 lbs and lift/carry up to 40 lbs using a stock wagon or pallet jack. Occasionally climb ladders to clean, stock, and face top shelves, or operate company vehicles/forklifts.Safety Equipment: Continuously wear a back support belt when performing all job duties.Equipment Use: Frequently use stock wagons, case cutters, ladders, and cardboard balers. Occasionally use brooms, dustpans, feather dusters, freight elevators, pallet jacks, and telephones. Seldom use code guns, company vans, forklifts, and handheld laser barcode scanners.Benefits & Work CultureFlexible work scheduling.Comprehensive on-the-job training.Health, dental, vision, paid time off, and retirement options for eligible associates.QualificationsWhat You BringAge Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age to use a case cutter.Must be at least 18 years of age to operate a trash baler, freight elevator, or power-driven equipment.Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid Driver's License and company certification to operate a forklift or company vehicle.Skills & Knowledge: Basic math skills for inventory counts, price coding, and receiving freight. Strong organizational and multitasking skills to prioritize tasks and complete duties on time under minimal or no supervision.Work Habits: Honest, trustworthy, detail-oriented, self-motivated, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and productive work environment. Responsible self-manager who asks for direction when needed and constantly seeks ways to improve tasks.Availability: Generally available to work 7 days a week including holidays, between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm.
