Billing Specialist

Duration: 13 weeks

Location: 5855 Copley Dr., San Diego, CA 92111 (Remote)

Shift/Hours: 5x8 Days – Mon-Fri; 7:30am-4pm PT (flexible)

Notes: Remote Position, must still be living in PST zone

Job Description:

• Under the direction of PFS Leadership, the Reimbursement Specialist I is responsible for billing and collections of outstanding account balances from commercial, government, and managed care payors. Responsibilities include:
• Identifying and reporting payor issues to leadership
• Reading, interpreting, and applying complex payor contract language to calculate expected reimbursement
• Pursuing payments owed to the organization
• Conducting account collection activities using internet resources and professional telephone communication
• Drafting professional written correspondence with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
• 2 years of experience
• EPIC experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook programs
• Proficiency in sending paper claims, paper appeals and refund requests
