Planner/Scheduler Contract Length: 1 Year Pay Rate: $67-$71/hour (W2) Work Type: Hybrid Location: Houston, TX 77079 Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. Job Overview: The Senior Project Scheduler is a key member of the Construction Project Management team, responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules across the full project lifecycle. At this level, the incumbent is expected to manage increasingly complex assignments, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams to ensure alignment between planning, procurement, engineering, construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities. This role serves as the primary scheduling subject matter expert for assigned projects, providing technical leadership in schedule development, progress tracking, critical path analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting. The Senior Project Scheduler works proactively with internal and external stakeholders to obtain project information, identify schedule risks and opportunities, and support effective project execution through accurate and timely scheduling insights. Develop, maintain, and optimize integrated project schedules throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and development through execution, completion, and closeout. Create detailed schedules that accurately reflect project scope, sequencing, milestones, resource requirements, and critical path activities while adhering to enterprise scheduling standards and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) requirements. Update and refine project schedules using earned value data, field progress reports, construction updates, and other performance metrics to ensure schedule accuracy and reliability. Monitor and analyze schedule performance, identifying trends, variances, risks, constraints, dependencies, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to support successful project delivery. Perform critical path analysis and assess the impact of schedule changes on baseline plans, milestones, resource requirements, and overall project objectives. Develop schedule forecasts, recovery plans, and what-if scenarios to evaluate alternative execution strategies and support project decision-making. Prepare, maintain, and communicate project controls reports, performance indicators, dashboards, forecasts, and scheduling documentation for project teams and leadership. Collaborate with project managers, engineering, procurement, construction, regulatory, contractor, and consultant stakeholders to obtain accurate project information and support effective schedule management. Integrate individual project schedules into program-level or master schedules to ensure alignment across multiple projects and regulatory requirements. Provide technical expertise and guidance in project planning, scheduling methodologies, logistics, forecasting, and schedule performance management. Represent the project team in interactions with internal and external stakeholders, providing scheduling insights, coordination, and support throughout project execution. Mentor and guide junior and intermediate planners/schedulers while promoting scheduling best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Scope: Supports medium- to large-scale construction projects with significant scheduling complexity. Works independently while collaborating closely with project leadership and stakeholders. Influences project planning and execution decisions through schedule analysis, forecasting, and recommendations. Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery objectives. Recommendations and deliverables are reviewed primarily for overall accuracy and alignment with project objectives. Primarily office-based environment. Periodic travel to project sites, construction locations, and stakeholder meetings may be required. Overnight travel may be necessary depending on project requirements. Must be able to work within dynamic project environments and meet reporting deadlines. Site visits may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety protocols. Qualifications: Required: Technical college diploma or university degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline. 5-10 years of progressive experience in project scheduling, planning, or project controls, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, closeout, and post-project follow-up activities. Demonstrated experience with oil and gas construction projects. Experience developing, maintaining, and integrating project schedules into program-level or master schedules across multiple projects. Experience working within regulated project environments, including the incorporation of regulatory requirements, approvals, and milestones into project schedules. Strong understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM), schedule forecasting, earned value management, resource planning, schedule risk analysis, and project controls principles. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across project teams, contractors, consultants, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate results in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment. Experience with EcoSys project controls software. Offshore project experience. Experience supporting large-scale energy, industrial, or infrastructure capital projects.
