Adjunct Faculty Position

This Position is a Part-Time Instructional Position and receives $700 per credit hour.

Position Summary

St. Johns River State College seeks qualified adjunct faculty to provide high-quality instruction in mathematics courses through online delivery. Adjunct instructors are responsible for fostering student learning, maintaining academic standards, and supporting student success in a virtual learning environment. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate effective teaching practices and engage students through meaningful instructional activities and timely feedback.

About the College – SJR State is a public college located in beautiful northeast Florida along the shores of the St. Johns River. With three campuses in Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, SJR State serves nearly 10,000 students each year from among a population base of 600,000 in one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction

• Teach assigned mathematics courses through online delivery methods
• Develop and maintain course materials in accordance with College standards
• Facilitate student learning through effective instructional practices and engagement strategies
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments
• Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and course records
• Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations and progress

Student Support

• Promote student success through academic support and guidance
• Respond to student inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Refer students to appropriate College resources when needed
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment

College and Professional Responsibilities

• Utilize the College's Learning Management System and instructional technologies effectively
• Maintain compliance with College policies, procedures, and academic standards
• Participate in required faculty training and professional development activities
• Complete the Distance Learning Academy during the first semester of employment

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics; or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics
• College-level online teaching experience required
• Willingness to complete the Distance Learning Academy during the first semester of employment
• Applicants must pass employment/reference verification screening and a background check
