Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare Culinary facilities to include kitchen and storage spaces for fall semester use.
  2. Ensure all areas meet sanitation and organizational standards expected for instructional use.
  3. Perform deep cleaning of kitchen floors, including sweeping, mopping, and buildup removal.
  4. Thoroughly clean and sanitize countertops, prep surfaces, and high-touch areas.
  5. Develop and implement procedures to upkeep cleanliness of kitchen, lab, and storage spaces.
  6. Monitor and record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and storage units, promptly identifying and reporting any irregularities or equipment concerns.
  7. Inventory all refrigerators and storage areas, clean, reorganize, and standardize dry storage and supply spaces.
  8. Manage inventory safety by ensuring all retained food and supplies are properly labeled and stored, while systematically disposing of unusable or compromised goods in accordance with biohazard and safety guidelines.
  9. Inspect Culinary Program's equipment, appliances, and facilities to ensure proper operation, proactively submitting and following up on maintenance requests for issues such as leaking faucets, faulty light fixtures, malfunctioning water heaters, or broken soap dispensers until fully resolved.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in hospitality, food service, business administration or related field; or equivalent education/training or experience.
  2. Experience in sanitation and food safety procedures.
  3. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  4. Independently work and complete tasks.
  5. Basic knowledge of kitchen environments.
