Role: Senior Network Solutions Architect
Location: Washington, DC (Remote with Quarterly Travel to DC for PI Planning Events)
Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Network Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale network architectures supporting mission-critical systems. This role is responsible for defining future-state architecture, aligning technology solutions with business strategy, and driving innovation across multiple IT initiatives.
The ideal candidate will operate at both strategic and tactical levels, acting as a key advisor, change agent, and technical leader across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and develop conceptual and solution-level network architectures.
• Lead architecture strategy aligned with enterprise business objectives.
• Collaborate across business units, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Act as a technical visionary, driving innovation and modernization initiatives.
• Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle: requirements, design, and implementation.
• Ensure solutions follow best practices, scalability, and reusability standards.
• Present architectural designs to senior leadership and Enterprise Architecture Review Council.
• Build consensus and influence stakeholders on technology decisions.
• Serve as a change agent, promoting adoption of new technologies and improved processes.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance standards.

Key Deliverables

• Develop and present network architecture designs and solution blueprints.
• Provide strategic guidance on enterprise network transformation initiatives.
• Ensure successful architecture governance and approvals.
• Deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance network solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 15-20 years of experience across multiple IT domains.
• 10-15 years of network architecture experience.
• Expert-level experience in routing and switching architecture.
• Strong experience with data center and enterprise network design.
• CCIE certification (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and modeling principles.
• Experience designing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
• Proven track record as a Network Solution Architect for large-scale IT programs.
• Experience delivering solutions that address complex business challenges.
• Broad exposure to enterprise networking technologies.
• Experience in the transportation industry or similar domains.
• Understanding of enterprise information management and software design principles.
