Senior Source-Code Reviewer (Patent Litigation) - Part-Time
Location: Remote / Austin, TX
Type: Part-Time (Project-Based)
Key Responsibilities
• Deep Dive Code Review: Analyze complex codebases, focusing on firmware, drivers, and kernel-level C/C++.
• Hardware/Software Correlation: Review RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and hardware schematics to map physical hardware behaviors (power rails, clocking, interfaces) to software execution.
• Litigation Analysis: Identify and document specific code modules and logic gates that align with patent claim elements.
• Expert Support: Draft high-quality, "litigation-grade" technical write-ups and declarations that can be relied upon by testifying experts for depositions and trial.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Expert Witness team to refine infringement theories based on findings in the code room.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:
• Processor/SoC Architecture Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of CPU microarchitecture and SoC subsystems.
• Litigation Experience: 3-4+ years of direct experience reviewing source code in the context of patent litigation or equivalent contentious legal matters.
• Primary Reviewer Track Record: Served as the Primary Code Reviewer on at least two (2) separate matters specifically involving processor architecture or CPU/SoC issues.
• Technical Proficiency:
* Languages: Expert-level fluency in C/C++ (specifically for firmware, drivers, and kernel) and Verilog/SystemVerilog (RTL).
o Hardware Collateral: Proven ability to interpret schematics and hardware documentation to support code-based theories.
• Technical Writing: Demonstrated ability to produce clear, precise, and defensible technical documentation suitable for expert reliance.
• Legal Status: Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
