Job Title: Natural/ADABAS Developer
Location: South Carolina (Occasional Onsite)
Duration: Long-term Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Natural/ADABAS Developer to support mission-critical systems for the State of South Carolina. This role involves development, troubleshooting, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the modernization of legacy systems. The position requires occasional onsite presence for critical meetings and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain applications using Natural programming and ADABAS databases.
  • Work within the NaturalONE (Eclipse) development environment.
  • Provide production support, issue resolution, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on payroll, accounting, or financial system requirements.
  • Mentor and train junior or permanent staff.
  • Document code, processes, and system design per best practices.
  • Participate in integration efforts between legacy and modern platforms.
Required Skills:
  • 6+ years of experience with Natural programming and ADABAS.
  • Hands-on experience with NaturalONE or Eclipse.
  • Solid understanding of payroll, accounting, or financial systems.
  • Strong production support and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with JCL and both batch/online processing.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN) and development best practices.
  • Exposure to integration of legacy systems with modern platforms.

Work Arrangement:
Primarily remote with occasional onsite work in South Carolina based on project needs.
