Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the end-to-end contract process for Geisinger Pharmacy. Serving as the primary liaison between pharmacy stakeholders and internal contracting partners, this role ensures timely review, negotiation, and execution of all pharmacy-related agreements. The Pharmacy Contract Manager oversees the full contract lifecycle, drives process efficiency, and supports strategic sourcing initiatives. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments and external partners.
Job Duties:
- Initiates contract review by submitting requests through the designated intake platforms (SharePoint or Ntracts).
- Serves as the primary liaison between Pharmacy Leadership, business units, and internal contracting/legal departments.
- Ensures all pharmacy contracts are reviewed, negotiated, and executed within established timelines.
- Tracks contract progress from initiation through execution; escalate delays when necessary.
- Collaborates with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to resolve contract-related issues.
- Facilitates communication between pharmacy leadership and contracting teams to ensure alignment on terms, conditions, and expectations.
- Maintains assigned contracts within the Contract Management System and ensure accurate filing, maintenance, and submission of all pharmacy-related agreements.
- Maintains a centralized repository of pharmacy contracts and monitor key dates (renewals, expirations, amendments).
- Supports contract renewals and amendments to ensure continuity of supply, pricing, and service arrangements.
- Generates regular reports on contract status, turnaround times, compliance metrics, and key performance indicators.
- Identifies and recommend process improvement opportunities to reduce cycle time and enhance operational efficiency.
- Develops, refines, and implements standardized workflows for pharmacy contract review, approval, and execution.
- Ensures consistent application of policies and procedures across contract types and stakeholder groups.
- Provides human resource management and oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the Pharmacy Contracting and Licensing Team.
- Leads, communicates, and promotes change initiatives within the team.
- Coaches, mentors, and evaluates team members to support skill development, performance improvement, and career growth.
