Job Summary

The Yacht Planner is key to the success and wellness of the Ladies and Gentlemen's pre-arrival, sign-on, and departure onboard The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

Essential Functions

  • Manage all aspects of the employee's journey to and from the yacht, including, but not limited to, pre-arrival, sign-on/sign-off, and departure.
  • Administer rotational plans within the company's HR system for new builds, dry/wet docks, manning reductions, and Yacht transfers.
  • Liaise with the onboard HR team to maintain current yacht employee manning lists.
  • Partner with hiring agents and flag state authorities to ensure that each onboard employee has a valid seaman's book issued by either the flag state or the home country, and hold all partners accountable for providing the appropriate scope of support.
  • Implement and/or support all yacht employee travel procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring a strong liaison with corporate and onboard leaders, as well as hiring agents for the recruitment of onboard employees and scheduling requests.
  • Account for shortages and prepare contingency plans, ensuring replacements are arranged to avoid extended shortfalls.
  • Ensure each yacht employee's required documentation and certification is valid before deployment, and validity is maintained throughout each yacht employee's tenure with RCYC.
  • Ensure all talent acquisition systems are in place and current by performing regular audits.
  • Provide relevant reports to onboard teams, hiring agents, port agents, and corporate leadership.
Competency

Skills and experience:
  • Minimum 5 years in the cruise industry as crewing manager/ scheduler/ shipboard workforce management
  • Experience in crewing is preferred
  • A general degree in Business or a Marine-related degree is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
