As a Software Engineer II on the Sensors Infra team, you will collaborate with software engineers to develop, deploy, and maintain robust Web and Mobile applications and SDKs that interface with and process sensor data from health-monitoring devices deployed for real-world studies. This mobile application layer is integral to Verily's Precision Health Platform, ensuring reliable, secure, and performant data capture that empowers data scientists to conduct large-scale analysis of digital biomarker data. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background in mobile and web development and a strong commitment to learning and delivering results.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality, scalable Web and Mobile software solutions to meet project requirements, focusing on device integration, data capture reliability, and application performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and data platform engineers, to define and refine technical specifications for the mobile data pipeline, taking ownership of design oversight, scoping, and project deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, uphold best practices, and ensure adherence to Software development standards and modern architecture.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues related to application system reliability, sensor connectivity, and background data processing to ensure the stability of our mobile and web components.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in Web and Mobile software development.
- Proficiency in Modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Kotlin, Java, Swift) with a strong understanding of relevant mobile and web SDKs and frameworks.
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact, production-quality software.
- Familiarity with Modern software architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC, Redux, Flux) and proficiency with application performance monitoring and debugging tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building secure and scalable applications that handle sensitive health data.
- Proficiency in modern software development tools and frameworks and reactive programming (e.g., RxJS, Kotlin Flow, Swift Combine).
- Experience with modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Gradle, Fastlane).
- Familiarty with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications (e.g., Fastlane, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with low-level mobile APIs and web technologies for sensor data, Bluetooth, or background processing.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $97,000 - $146,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
