-Position: Full-Time Custodian Lead
-Location: Big Island (Kailua-Kona, HI 96740)
-Key Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with the team, management, and property managers.
Respond promptly to emails and phone calls while maintaining clear communication with the HBM team and property manager.
Drive a golf cart in designated areas only.
Manage and supervise a custodial team by employing strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Review and submit time cards in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness in common areas throughout the buildings.
Restock and collect supplies as needed.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, disinfect surfaces, and ensure the parking lot, walk paths, and seating areas are tidy.
Remove and dispose of trash and recycling in designated locations.
Maintain safety signage during wet conditions.
Perform light ground maintenance tasks.
Polish hallways and floors to ensure they are presentable.
Operate a pressure washer for cleaning purposes.
Utilize a leaf blower or handheld blower for outdoor maintenance.
Stand and walk for extended periods as required by the job.
Use a smartphone to upload information to HBM, communicate via email, and respond to phone calls and text messages.
Follow safety procedures strictly.
Report any safety issues or building problems (e.g., burnt light bulbs).
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the HBM supervisor or property manager.
-Skills/Qualifications:
Must pass background check
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must have a valid Hawaii driver's license and a reliable vehicle
Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
Must have good public relations skills and communication
Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, press, push, pull, frequently lift 40lbs, carry a minimum of 25lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down the stairs and use a ladder climb up and down and stand throughout their shifts.
Schedule varies: 5 days, 38 hours per week, On-call to respond to emergencies as needed, Must be available 6am-2:30pm or 2:30pm-10pm shifts
