We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leave Program Specialist to join our Total Rewards team!

The Leave Program Specialist serves as the subject matter expert on the organization's various paid and unpaid time away from work programs. This role is responsible for overseeing and administering leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing support to employees and management regarding leave policies and procedures.

The Leave Program Specialist will develop, implement, and administer leave programs to assist leaders and the organization in managing absences while ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This position requires effective communication with employees regarding their leave needs, as well as the ability to interpret and administer leave programs and policies in accordance with federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.). The Leave Program Specialist will also create policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.

What's Available:

  • 1.0 FTE, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday Days
  • Location: Remote eligible position for residents of WI, MN, and IA. Must be willing to come onsite in the La Crosse, WI or Green Bay, WI locations as business needs permit.
  • Starting salary $52,700 and up, based on your years of experience.
What You'll Need:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, Required
  • Ideally 5-7 years of experience in HR specifically in leave administration
  • Extensive knowledge of leave requirements and legal protections under FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy writing and documentation, ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with organizational practices
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with a variety of internal teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Must be well-organized to be able to prioritize, multi-task and handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • High level of critical thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Specialized certification or training in leave administration (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP), highly preferred
