About the Role
Our client, a large national organization within the insurance and risk management industry, is seeking an Accounts Receivable professional to support daily cash receipt and commission processing activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate application of customer payments, reconciliation of accounts, and resolution of payment discrepancies. The position follows a hybrid schedule with in office work required on Tuesdays. Job Description
The Accounts Receivable role is responsible for processing and posting customer payments, managing direct bill commissions, and supporting month end accounting activities. This position works closely with internal producers, account managers, and insurance carriers to research discrepancies and resolve outstanding items. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast paced, team based environment.
Key responsibilities include receiving, depositing, and posting customer payments to appropriate trust, operating, customer, or general ledger accounts; processing direct bill cash receipts and posting commissions based on accompanying statements; researching commissions received without policy information and ensuring accurate producer assignment; following up with insurance carriers regarding unpaid commissions and other accounting related issues; handling requests for account corrections and transfers; preparing and distributing daily cash receipts reports to producers; completing month end reconciliations and related reporting; notifying account managers of non sufficient funds checks and stop payments; and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years of accounts receivable experience
- Basic knowledge of accounting terminology and principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Preferred - Experience in the insurance, financial services, or professional services industry
- Prior experience working with commissions or trust accounting
