Kokila is seeking a creative, engaged, and proactive team player to join as an Editorial Assistant! The Editorial Assistant reports to the Publisher and Associate Publisher, and will provide administrative and editorial support, all while coordinating with various departments in the division, agents, authors and illustrators. In this role you will gain practical bookmaking knowledge while being mentored in how editors select, nurture, and promote the authors and illustrators they work with.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Draft various types of copy including book copy, selling copy, metadata, newsletters, etc.
- Provide administrative support for acquisitions including drafting p&ls and memos, researching comp titles, and gathering pricing.
- Review manuscripts pre- and post-acquisition.
- Provide administrative and editorial support during key divisional meetings and events.
- Engage in brainstorming sessions both during meetings and independently, contributing creative ideas and solutions to enhance team projects.
- Join the Kokila social media team in producing and managing content.
- In collaboration with Kokila's Publishing Assistant, act as one of Kokila's main points of contact when liaising with other departments and external partners.

The salary for this position is $51,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results. This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
