GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Store Security Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and associates. This position fosters a strong presence at store entrances and throughout the sales floor, deterring theft and fraud while delivering outstanding customer service. By engaging with shoppers and implementing store policies effectively, you help protect the Ross treasure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensuring Safety: Assist in creating a secure environment by promoting safety protocols and remaining vigilant against potential safety hazards.
• Excellent Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly, assisting them with inquiries and treating everyone with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.
• Theft Prevention: Monitor store areas for suspicious activities and respond according to company policies, collaborating with Store Leadership for effective loss prevention.
• Reducing Operational Shortage: Educate and mentor associates on best practices for loss prevention. Observe checkout processes to ensure compliance and integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
• Previous retail supervisory experience is a plus.
• Experience in loss prevention or security training preferred.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on building relationships.
• Ability to remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry objects over 25 lbs.
• Regular bending, stooping, and crouching as needed.
