Title: Data Warehouse Developer (Hybrid) Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: The Data Warehouse Developer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing the organization s data warehouse, ETL processes, and reporting solutions. This role involves developing SQL-based data integrations, creating and modifying SSRS and Power BI reports, optimizing data flows, and working closely with business stakeholders to meet analytical and reporting needs. Key Responsibilities Data Warehouse Development & Maintenance Maintain and enhance the data warehouse environment including merge scripts, loads, extracts, and transformations using SSMS and ETL processes using SSIS. Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot ETL workflows to support reliable data ingestion and transformation. Perform root-cause analysis and resolve issues related to data pipeline failures, data quality, and performance bottlenecks. Plan and implement future enhancements, upgrades, and optimizations for the data warehouse environment. Database Development Create, modify, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and scripts for data processing, analytics, and reporting. Use SSMS and Visual Studio for database development, debugging, and deployment. Leverage C and .NET when needed for custom scripts, application logic, or integrations. Reporting & Business Intelligence Develop, maintain, and enhance SSRS reports, including creating and modifying RDLC files based on business needs. Build, update, and optimize reports and dashboards in Power BI and the SSRS Report Manager Create and manage SSRS subscriptions to automatically deliver reports via email or shared folders on daily, weekly, or monthly schedules Ensure reports meet business requirements while maintaining accuracy, usability, and performance Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and management stakeholders across multiple departments to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements. Support ad hoc reporting needs by quickly developing or updating reports, queries, or datasets. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field. Strong proficiency with SQL, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, and Visual Studio. Experience with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and ETL processes. Strong troubleshooting skills for data pipelines, report issues, and SQL performance tuning. Familiarity with C, .NET, and scripting for automation or integrations. Preferred Skills Experience with Power BI report and dashboard development. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and best practices for deployment. Understanding of database performance tuning and optimization. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Working Conditions Hybrid or remote options depending on organizational policy.
