The Utility Worker is responsible for field operations and maintenance work and performs relief work under various classifications in the waste water field. The work is performed under direct supervision and also requires the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs general clean-up of grounds and facilities. Cleans and paints station and treatment plant equipment and appurtenances. Makes repairs to meters 5/8 to 2. Investigates customer complaints. Investigates high bills. Inspects services and facilities as a result of all types of complaints or investigation work orders. Flushes and services mains.
