Professional Summary

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Temporary Paralegal to join the Commercial Mortgage Loans group within the Investment Management affiliate of a leading financial services organization. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of legal documentation and organizational charts for borrowers in commercial mortgage transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong paralegal experience with expertise in corporate law, and exceptional analytical skills to support compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze borrower organizational charts to confirm ownership structures, governing bodies, and management/control relationships.
• Validate that charts accurately identify all relevant individuals and entities, including beneficial owners, general partners, managers, trustees, and authorized signers.
• Apply knowledge of entity types (LLC, LP, corporation, trust, REIT) and governance models to ensure compliance with internal documentation standards.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or red flags in organizational hierarchies and elevate for further review.
• Review legal formation documents for LLCs, partnerships, corporations, and trusts to confirm authorized signatories, stated entity purpose, and proper execution.
• Maintain a tracking system for missing or inconsistent information and coordinate follow?up with internal or external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal legal, compliance, and investment teams to ensure documentation meets regulatory and internal standards, and communicate with external parties to resolve documentation gaps.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certification or equivalent experience in a legal support role.
• Understanding of KYC/AML processes.
• Strong familiarity with corporate entity structures and legal formation documents.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting commercial lending or mortgage transactions.
• Prior work in a legal, financial services, or investment management environment.
• Knowledge of trust and estate documentation is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. It is a fully remote position.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
