MK Golf Shop Starter Marshall

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary duty is to direct and coordinate golfers prior to the start of their round. Assist the Head Professional with the daily operations of the department. Assist with the management of the daily tee sheets and the flow of rounds of golf to ensure a smooth operation. Greet and welcome guests, ensuring personalized service. Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course.

Essential Duties:

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner, personalizing the service.
• Perform starter and/or marshal duties as required.
• Assist with the management of daily tee sheets and the flow of rounds of golf.
• Assist in the promotion and coordination of tournaments, golf clinics, and other golf events.
• Offer general assistance to guests, anticipating their needs and following standard operating procedures.
• Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course.
• Regulate the flow of golf play on the course.
• Assist in the coordination of tournaments.
• Provide information regarding the resort facilities and services and Big Island attractions.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Other Duties:

• Assist shop or cart attendants as needed.
• Do minor repair of golf clubs.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Indoors in cart barn or golf shop.

Work Hours:

• Able to work shift and days set by manager.
• Able to work more than 40 hours per week.

Equipment Use:

• Telephone or radio.
• Golf cart or other utility carts to transport golf bags
• Golf tag engraver

Mental and Physical Demands:

• Able to direct the golfers at tee off to insure smooth flow of golf play.
• Able to stand and walk during most of shift.
• Able to lift/carry golf bags weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
• Able to maintain a friendly and helpful demeaner.

Communication Demands:

• Must have the ability to communicate verbally to employees, manager and guests/clients.
• Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Knowledgeable in the game of golf and the resort golf courses.
• Able to multi-task.
• Must be pleasant, smiling and friendly.
