In this role, you'll oversee all facets of employee benefits, from daily administration to long‑term strategic improvements. What You Will Do

  • Benefits Management & Strategy
    • Lead the transition of all employee benefits programs to an in‑house model by developing efficient, scalable processes.
    • Manage daily administration of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and voluntary benefits.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate support.
    • Oversee end‑to‑end benefits operations, including open enrollment, yearly renewals, vendor management, and employee education.
    • Maintain compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and Hawaii‑specific regulations.
    • Track benefit utilization and cost trends, gathering employee feedback to support continuous program improvement.
    • Build and maintain relationships with carriers and providers, negotiate contracts, and evaluate service performance.
    • Support leave of absence (LOA) and accommodation processes in partnership with Employee Relations.
  • Systems, Scaling & Enablement
    • Improve workflows between HRIS, benefits platforms, and Finance to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
    • Evaluate and assist in implementing scalable tools that support benefits administration and employee self‑service.
    • Create reporting and dashboards to measure program performance and identify areas for improvement.

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years of experience in benefits administration or total rewards with a benefits focus.
  • In‑depth knowledge of federal and Hawaii‑specific benefits compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing vendors, open enrollment cycles, and benefits education.
  • A strong employee‑service mindset with the ability to provide empathetic, solution‑oriented support.
  • Experience using HRIS and benefits platforms; strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Requirements (Conditions Of Employment)

  • Completion of standard pre‑employment screening.
