The Department of Customer Services is seeking empathetic and attentive individuals to join their team as a Customer Service Representative I! Current Vacancies
- There are eight (8) vacancies with the Department of Customer Services, Satellite City Hall Division.
- There are two (2) vacancies with the Department of Customer Services, Division of Motor Vehicles.
What You'll Do At The Satellite City Hall
- Communicate with and assist the public by providing information and processing licenses, permits, registrations, payments, and applications for services like vehicles, property taxes, voter registration, and driver's licenses.
- Handle forms, applications, and records accurately and securely while managing files and office supplies.
- Perform cashiering duties by reviewing forms, collecting and recording payments, giving correct change, keeping accurate transaction records, and balancing cash totals at the end of the day.
- Support office staff by answering phones, greeting visitors, typing documents, and keeping office records while working independently and using good judgment in unique situations.
- Provide the public with information about City services like vehicle registration, driver's licenses, job openings, and permits, and direct other questions to the appropriate outside agencies.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What You'll Do at the Division of Motor Vehicles
- Assist people with applying for driver's licenses, permits, and state IDs by checking documents, filling out forms, taking photos and fingerprints, giving tests, and explaining rules and procedures.
- Handle cashiering by reviewing forms and documents, collecting and recording fees for licenses and state IDs, giving correct change, taking photos, keeping accurate daily transaction records, and balancing cash at the end of the day.
- Type and send notices for license suspensions or cancellations and look up records when requested by courts or through subpoenas.
- Support staff by answering phones and working as a receptionist, handling tasks independently and using good judgment in unique situations.
- Collect and organize data to create monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports when needed.
- Perform keyboard/data entry to update driver's license and state ID records, transaction details, and statistical information for reports, ensuring all records are accurate and organized.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Special Work Requirements
- Work schedule is from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., with hours varying depending on the vacancy.
- May float to various satellite city halls or driver licensing centers as needed depending on the vacancy.
- Selectees must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting process, as well as the Security Awareness Training and the Fraudulent Document Detection & Remediation Training, depending on the vacancy.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
Education Requirement
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Experience Requirement
One (1) year of clerical experience, which shall have included some customer service or public contact experience.
