POSITION STATUS: 0.30 | Temporary - Casual

SALARY RANGE: BU13 | SR22

SALARY RANGE: $30.98 - $44.10 (Hourly) Depending on Experience

JOB DUTIES:

A. CT Specialist II Duties

1. Perform the daily technical activities of the section.

2. Follow the organization of the daily workflow.

3. Follows prepared work schedules.

4. Responsible for being productive while at work.

5. Responsible for product inventory, ordering of supplies, and preparing purchase orders as necessary.

6. Skills should be current.

7. Resolves conflicts or problems (i.e., physicians, patients, employees, or supplies.

8. Completes statistical reports (monthly, annually, or as needed).

9. Review and assess new equipment and make recommendations to the Director.

10. Work in other modalities that are within the scope of practice allowed by the license and as requested.

11. Rotates call as requested or assigned.

12. Meets monthly with CT Specialist Lead to discuss department issues and suggestions for improvement.

13. Work with the CT Specialist Lead to ensure all policies and procedures manuals include recommended criteria and are reviewed and revised on a regular basis.

14. Supports the CT Specialist Lead in carrying out duties.

15. Promotes teamwork within the department, suppresses negative comments and actions.

16. Encourages positive attitudes and customer service.

17. Displays respectful behavior with all staff at all times.

18. Supports the Rules and Regulations, Code of Ethics of the ARRT, and the State of Hawaii License.

19. Ensures no one other than approved personnel is allowed in the patient care/work area (patient or employee family members, friends, or employees having no need to be in the area). 20. Compliant with mandatory in-service requirements.

21. Patient Safety Goals.

22. Participates and requires staff to participate in department activities, The Joint Commission (TJC), Safety, Performance Improvement, and Infection Control.

23. Maintain confidentiality with matters pertaining to patients, the Director, and lead meetings, discussions /concerns pertaining to employee confidentiality.

24. Maintains the strictest confidentiality of all facility or facility-related patient & employee information.

25. Cross-trains and performs duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of practice allowed by their license, in other imaging modalities, as required or requested, for which the employee is competent and qualified, as part of an ongoing program to enhance employee development and provide for maximum utilization of staff and services within related fields.

26. Adhere to safety/infection control policies and procedures, hospital rules and regulations, policies and procedures, professional code of ethics, regulatory agency guidelines, and accreditation standards.

27. Maintains stock and procures inventory supplies.

28. Performs other related duties as requested

THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.

Other information:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Excess work experience as described below in the experience requirement section or any other responsible professional work experience, which provided knowledge, skills, and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree, may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level, and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Substitution of Experience for Education:

1. Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with a certificate or associate degree and two (2) years of professional radiologic experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

2. Excess work experience as described under the Imaging or Specialized Experience Requirement which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Substitution of Experience:

1. Excess work experience as described under the Specialized Experience Requirement may be substituted for Imaging Experience on a year-for-year basis.

2. For Imaging Specialist III (Type B) positions, an advanced certification in a respective modality may be substituted for all required imaging and specialized experience.

DESIRED SKILLS

Demonstrated proficiency in the application of all of the knowledge and abilities in the operations of CT equipment, human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology; positioning patients and appropriate scanning techniques. Knowledge of CT equipment, radiation physics/CT physics, radiation safety, CT protocols, standard precautions, hospital policies and procedures, rules and regulations, government regulatory requirements, and accrediting standards, and perform the full range of services to the patients, independent of supervision. Knowledge of multiple/differing cultures; oral and written communications skills; good observation skills; ability to recall and report /document a series of events accurately; presents a positive attitude at all times, even under stress. Handles stress well. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.

Code of Ethics: Ability to meet the specific needs of patients with a variety of disabilities; retain emotional stability and maturity despite emotional and physical pressures; demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and initiative. Ability to promote a positive, collaborative practice atmosphere.
