This role focuses on solutions to simplify and secure the path to production and includes work on the supply chain, scanning, metadata store, signing, multi cluster support, CI/CD integrations and bring your own image support.This role is responsible for understanding the application operator and developers as it relates to defining and securing application code to running workload and the full UX experience to support it. The Tanzu Application Platform Build and Test, Ship and UI, and Secure Tools Programs are all under the scope of this leader.DevSecOps stands for development, security, and operations. This role leads a team who are focused on providing solutions to customers through automation, and platform design that integrates security as a shared responsibility throughout the entire IT lifecycle.This role in collaboration with two other engineering leaders to drive Tanzu Application Platform's releases, quality and engineering process.**Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?**· You can communicate and collaborate with product and design in your development and you are constructive in sharing your opinionsYou oversee the staffing setup, location strategy for work and feasibility in overall operating costs.Your programs are healthy as determined by key metrics of engagement, retention, work/life balance, delivery that you helped put in place.You help drive consistency in engineering practices and have a healthy focus on ensuring outcomes and delivery.**What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**As a leader in Engineering, you will:+ Manage headcount, budget, hiring, onboarding, best cost efforts+ Enabling three or more programs to sustainably deliver high quality solutions+ Coach managers and help to sustainably grow the teams and individuals on your program.+ Leading and orienting a team of 60+ engineers and managers towards delivering against program objectives.+ Work at a program level with product leads, technical leads, designers, and people managers in figuring out what to work on next and how to prepare for future work.+ Bring clarity where there is uncertainty, managing risk and continuously delivering value.+ Defining experiments, measuring success metrics and using data to inform decisions.As a remote first organization, timezones matter more than physical location.
