The Customer Account Manager (Tooling) is responsible for setting and executing the short-term and long-term commercial strategy and technical activities in support of tooling sales to both external distribution and OEM fastener customers in the United States. The role is responsible for understanding, mapping and developing strategic plans for sales and margin, encouraging timely resolution of product application issues, and to coordinate the strategy within HFS, our external distribution customers and our industry. The position will support development of the HFS strategic plan, growth initiatives, the interface between sales/marketing, customer representatives and management, and will resolve issues related to orders, delivery, product applications, and other commercial and technical issues.
Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing solutions in a timely manner.
Conduct regular check-ins and follow-ups to assess client needs and gather feedback.
Sales and Account Growth:
Identify opportunities for account expansion and upselling of tool products and services.
Prepare and present sales proposals, quotes, and contracts to clients.
Monitor sales metrics and prepare reports on account performance, forecasting future sales trends.
Product Knowledge and Support:
Stay informed about the latest tool products, technologies, and industry trends.
Provide technical support and product information to clients, assisting them in selecting the right tools for their needs.
Collaborate with the marketing and product development teams to provide insights and feedback from clients.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with internal teams, including logistics, customer service, and finance, to ensure smooth order processing and fulfillment.
Coordinate with the sales team to align sales strategies and share best practices.
Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote our tool offerings and expand the client base.
Problem Solving:
Address and resolve any issues related to product delivery, quality, or customer service.
Implement corrective actions and follow up to ensure client satisfaction.
Provide assistance with sales, technical & application training
Develop, present and target new growth business opportunities in line with HFS strategy
Provide support for field training activities for other Account Managers, distributors and customers
Recommend the addition of new products and the modification/replacement of existing products within customer base
Coordinate with product management and/or contract management to insure timely submittal of quotes and packages
Monitor and take sales actions as needed to achieve annual sales budgets
Report to senior management in the strategic and key subjects/events
Compile & submit accurate sales reports/forecasts in a timely manner
Review and manage contract requirements to ensure they are within limits of established policies and procedures, including commercial and intellectual property (patent, trademark, licensing) requirements.
Manage contract compliance of assigned customers to insure budget attainment.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and +3 years of experience in sales OR +5 years of experience in sales in lieu of a bachelor's degree
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, automotive (etc.)
+10 years of experience as sales/customer relationship building experience
Aerospace fastener market knowledge or experience highly desired
Analytically oriented and able to effectively problem solve and deliver on objectives
Knowledge of Aerospace forging, machining, & fastening processes preferred
Proven experience with customer relationship building & business development activity is desired
Exceptional written/oral communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple large projects and interact with all organization levels
Understanding of terms and conditions documents, commercial agreements and contract language
Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and related computer skills
Additional Requirements
This is a Remote position
Must be able to travel up to 25%, including local, domestic, and intercontinental travel
Must be able to work extended hours as needed to communicate with global teams and customers
