The Electrical Mechanical Technician (EMT) is responsible for installation and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment in the production, treatment, and distribution systems of the district(s) under his/her assigned territory. This includes inspection, installation as needed for electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation elements in new construction of water and wastewater pump, treatment and storage facilities, telemetry and SCADA systems, and automatic control valves; ensures that construction conforms to plans and specifications; testing, calibration, and repair of instrumentation including water quality analyzers, chart recorders, flow meters, transducers, and HART communicators; install, troubleshoot, and maintain water and wastewater treatment plant equipment such as motor actuated valves, variable frequency drives, soft start contactors, human machine interfaces, and programmable logic controllers.
