The Pass & ID Office provides oversight to all airport Pass & ID operations statewide. The program develops, maintains, and updates policies and procedures regarding airport access badges and ensures compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
Graduation from high school or GED certification. One (1) year of work experience demonstrating the applicant is able to read and comprehend written material, follow oral and written instructions and prepare written material may be substituted for graduation from high school.
Two (2) years of work experience demonstrating the following abilities: (1) meet and deal effectively with people; (2) understand and apply various rules and regulations; (3) provide information, answer questions and inquiries and explain policies, rules and regulations in person; (4) utilize a computer to retrieve and enter data; and perform detailed tasks working with computer software.
One and one-half (1-1/2) years of progressively responsible work involving compliance with federal laws or adhering to strict business practices adopted pursuant to federal, state, and county laws, rules, regulations and directives which could result in financial consequences if not followed.
Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, word usage, and basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Good office practices and procedures. How to operate and maintain common office supplies and equipment.
Ability to read, understand and comprehend detailed instructional manuals, standard operating procedures and carrying out the procedures accurately; input alphanumeric data and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately, perform arithmetic computations, operate and maintain office appliances and equipment, compose routine correspondence and other similar material, understand, interpret and apply pertinent policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations, deal with others in a tactful and polite manner, supervise, assign, review and evaluate the work of others.
Graduation from high school may be substituted for six (6) months of clerical experience OR successful completion of a substantially full-time equivalent associate degree and the receipt of a diploma or a certificate of achievement at an accredited community college, business or technical school, which included courses in basic English, arithmetic, general clerical procedures and office machine may be substituted on the basis of fifteen (15) semester credit hours for six (6) months of General Clerical Experience, up to a maximum of one (1) year of General Clerical Experience.
In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found 'not guilty by reason of insanity', of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.

This position is exempt from the civil service and considered temporary in nature.
