The immediate vacancy is with the Department of Transportation, Harbors Division located in Kahului. Note: This position requires working rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Job Duties

Plans, lays out, and inspects the work of building maintenance workers engaged in maintenance and repair of buildings, wharves, paved areas, and related structures, on a full-time basis. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following:

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens).
• Seven (7) years of experience in building maintenance repair, including three (3) years as a fully competent (journey level) worker.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience supervising fully competent workers in building maintenance and repair.

Substitutions allowed as per the Minimum Qualification Requirements. Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The position also requires the ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Additional Requirements

Possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and successful fingerprint-based criminal history check are required. The cost is the applicant's responsibility, but reimbursement is available upon hire with proof of payment.
