Product Manager, Payments (Remote) at Avenu Insights & Analytics

Job Summary: As a product manager, you will work closely with engineering, marketing, design, and sales teams to drive prioritization and delivery of the product roadmap to meet business objectives. Youll focus on market analysis, positioning, customer research, quantitative analysis, and client feedback to inform design and ensure our products meet the needs of clients and prospects. Youll translate insights into initiatives and help execute on bringing those stories to life with partners in engineering and marketing.

You will have the opportunity to wear several hats, learn new things, and take on new responsibilities. Youll spearhead strategic initiatives and roll up your sleeves to turn concepts into reality.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Managing the product lifecycle from market research to product definition and go-to-market strategy
  • Developing the long-term product vision and connecting it with near-term planning to align resources; balance near-term needs with long-term evolution
  • Becoming fluent with market, client, and end-user needs through ongoing market research and field experience
  • Acting as the central point of contact between groups (e.g., sales, client success, implementations, engineering) and reconciling conflicting interests to move the product forward
  • Prioritizing the product roadmap based on quantitative and qualitative data and communicating decisions to stakeholders
  • Gathering, defining, and communicating feature requirements by writing high-quality initiatives and epics (and user stories as required) in partnership with engineering, architecture, and design
  • Working with UX to build user research on early prototypes and engage with user groups for ideation
  • Serving as product evangelist and representing product achievements and opportunities to sales and leadership
  • Understanding costs, pricing opportunities, and market levers, including cross-sell and adjacent markets
  • Driving a partnership ecosystem to maximize revenue with channel and strategic partners
  • Communicating and supporting readiness activities across the company for launches
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of product management experience (B2B software experience preferred)
  • 2+ years of technical experience working with platform technologies and platform teams dependent on vertically integrated products
  • Experience with platform services in a SaaS and SaaS-adjacent model
  • Experience with Payments as a service at scale, including processor relationships, funding flows, boarding & settlement
  • Experience with PCI compliance is desired
  • Experience building business cases and understanding cost and pricing structures is a plus
  • Experience in government technology at the state and local level is highly preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders
  • Ability to influence without direct management authority
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%
