Performs a variety of maintenance, repair, installation, calibration and fabrication duties relating to highly complex, sophisticated, specialized equipment and systems. Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity. Frequent: gripping of an object for prolonged periods. Occasional: pushing/pulling usual weight up to 10 pounds of force, lifting usual weight of 15 pounds up to 25 pounds, standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, walking on uneven ground; squatting, twisting body, carrying usual weight of 15 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions. Both inside and outside. Exposure to high amounts of electrical currents, chemicals, hazardous materials, communicable diseases, and body fluids. Exposure to x-ray and laser radiation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification and Licensure: Associate's degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology; OR completion of the Department of Defense Biomedical Equipment Technician training program; OR two (2) years training as a biomedical or electronic technician; OR certified or certified eligible Biomedical Electronic Technician (CBMET) by Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
Experience: In addition to the education/certification and licensure requirement, five (5) years work experience in working on mechanical or electrical devices with at least two (2) years work experience as a Biomedical Technician, preferably in a comparable organization.
