Koniag Professional Services is seeking a Data Governance Specialist with expertise in Human Resource Information Technology (HRIT) to establish and maintain effective data governance frameworks for HR systems and data. This role ensures the integrity, quality, security, and compliance of HR data across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of data governance principles with specific expertise in HR data management, privacy requirements, and HR systems. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
The Data Governance Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing data governance strategies specifically for HR data and systems. The role involves collaboration with HR stakeholders, IT teams, and compliance specialists to establish policies, standards, and procedures that ensure proper management of HR information assets.
+ Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
+ 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles
+ 3+ years of experience working with HR systems and data
+ Demonstrated experience implementing data governance frameworks in HR contexts
+ Experience with HR data quality management and improvement initiatives
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance if required
+ Comprehensive knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, and methodologies
+ Strong understanding of HR data domains and data models
+ Experience developing data governance policies and standards for HR data
+ Knowledge of HR systems and their data structures (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday)
+ Understanding of privacy regulations relevant to employee data (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
+ Experience with metadata management and data cataloging for HR systems
+ Knowledge of data quality dimensions and improvement approaches
+ Strong analytical skills with ability to assess complex data ecosystems
+ Experience with data stewardship program implementation
+ Understanding of master data management concepts for employee data
+ Excellent communication skills for engaging with HR and IT stakeholders
+ Strong facilitation and consensus-building capabilities
+ Experience developing and delivering data governance training
+ Ability to translate technical concepts for HR business audiences
+ Knowledge of HR reporting and analytics requirements
+ Master's degree in Information Management, HR Technology, or related field
+ Certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGCP)
+ Experience with specific HR systems like PeopleSoft HCM, Workday, or SAP SuccessFactors
+ Knowledge of federal HR data requirements and compliance standards
+ Experience implementing data governance within federal agencies
+ Understanding of records management requirements for HR documents
+ Experience with HR data privacy impact assessments
+ Knowledge of HR analytics and reporting best practices
+ Experience with HR data migration projects
+ Understanding of identity and access management for HR systems
+ Knowledge of data integration between HR and other enterprise systems
+ Experience with HR document management and classification
+ Familiarity with HR data archiving and retention requirements
+ Knowledge of workforce planning data requirements
+ Experience with automated data quality tools and monitoring solutions
