Overview

Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Systems Engineer (Integration) Level II in support of the Pacific Warfighting Center in Oahu, Hawaii. Relocation assistance may be available. Contingent upon prime contractor approval.

Job Description

• Performs a variety of complex project tasks applied to specialized technology problems.
• Tasks involve integration of software development processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems or technology problems.
• Applies analytical and systematic approaches in the resolution of problems of workflow, organization, and planning.
• Collaborates with other system engineers in the application of system engineering principles to the solution of secure systems design problems.
• Expert knowledge of LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, network protocols, and other security and network operations and monitoring, vulnerability analysis, PKI, data encryption, key management, data warehousing, and data mining capabilities.
• All systems engineers performing on the contract shall be compliant with Cyberspace Workforce Management (DoD Directive DoDD 8140.01) (Reference F), and SECNAV M-5239.2 DoN Cyberspace IT and Cyber Security Workforce Management and Qualification (Reference W).
• System Engineering personnel shall possess integration and software experience with Modeling and Simulation engineering and integration projects; experience with cross domain solutions.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5-12 years of experience in Computer Science, and a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or related area.
• Must be familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Proficient in a programming language (Java, C++).
• Familiar with database products.
• Ability to work independently and with remote colleagues.

Desired Qualifications

• Prefer knowledge of Simulation products.
• Familiarity and experience using any of the US Joint Staff JLVC models, preferred.
• Prefer experience working with INDOPACOM or PMTECH programs, preferred.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot distributed simulation problems and provide acceptable solutions or corrections, preferred.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, preferred.
• Familiarity with SimScript, preferred.
• Familiarity with LINUX OS and scripting, preferred.
• Security Requirements: Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance.

Travel Requirements

• Minimal Travel; 10% or less.
• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.

Physical Requirements

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time.
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
