Supervised by: Kitchen Manager & Assistant Store Manager


Job Summary:


Following the Company Mission, Vision, Values and Service Priorities, duties include providing an outstanding customer experience by creating and preparing hot entrees and side dishes for the hot bar and foods to go program, working the grill, slicing product for sandwiches, packing out and labeling product, rotating product, maintaining the olive bar, cleaning and closing the department at the end of the night.


Essential Job Functions:



  • Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English proficiently.

  • Perform basic math skills.

  • Stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.

  • Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.

  • Adhere to all health and civil code regulations.

  • Work with a variety of products, spices, and powdered substances without negative effects.

  • Tolerate moderate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping duties.

  • Work in varying temperatures.

  • Meet work schedules and comply with attendance policies.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Culinary/Chef certification required.

  • 3 to 5 years of culinary experience.

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Commitment to total associate and customer satisfaction.

  • Friendly personality and high personal appearance standards.

  • Commitment to the company vision To Be The Best.

  • Maintain sanitation and QA standards; operate and report equipment issues.

  • Dress according to policy, including uniform, badge, and hair restraint; follow hand washing standards and use gloves when handling food.

  • Knowledge of HAZCOM program and chemical safety.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and complete training programs.

  • Comply with all ShopRite Service Priorities.


Note: Associates must be 18 or older to operate certain equipment.
