Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Open to Remote)

Penguin Random House is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to be part of the Client Systems Team, working to maintain, design, and engineer enterprise-grade solutions for the worlds leading trade-book publishers IT department. The Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is a results-driven technical engineer that leverages SaaS and cloud-based technologies to solve complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supports Azure integrations within the companys broader IT ecosystem.
• Governs a variety of multi-cloud IT projects leveraging knowledge of Azure RBAC, AWS IAM, and virtual networking.
• Collaborates with Service Delivery, Engineering, IT Security, Architecture, Data Warehousing, and Development Teams.
• Assists with Client Systems Design Team projects and provides escalation support as needed.
• Maintains documentation, conducts team knowledge transfer sessions, and conducts peer-review of designs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of experience in a hybrid global Microsoft enterprise environment.
• Proficient with Azure and M365 services including Azure OpenAI, AI & ML Studios, Copilot, Power Platform, Azure Security Center, and Azure Automation Account & Runbooks.
• Experience creating and using PowerShell and Python scripts, REST APIs, and OIDC/Okta authentications.
• Understanding of virtualization, containerization, auto-scaling; experience with GIT, CI/CD pipelines; working understanding of Terraform; building fault-tolerant and fully automated systems.
• Ability to work independently, be self-driven, and have a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and application issues.
• Solution engineering using cloud-based platforms and ad-hoc SaaS products to address business technology requirements.
• Knowledge of networking, DNS, SSL protocols, and basic firewall concepts.
• Understanding of IT change management and adoption processes.
• Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to be in an on-call rotation and available after standard business hours.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000. All positions are eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
