Overview

Location: Orlando, Florida

We are looking for a Sr. Java Developer Contract.

Identify, develop, and implement changes to migrate existing Supply Chain batch programs that run on Solaris, a UNIX-based operating system, to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system.

Responsibilities

• What will the primary accomplishments for this project be:
  
  • Analysis and Development estimation (85% of time)
  • Code Migration: Initial migration of source code from TFS to DevOps
  • Code Revision: Updating existing batch solutions to Java 17 or latest version
  • Code Deployments: Build out pipelines for lifecycle deployment within DevOps
  • Code Validation: Unit test changes and collaboration with QA for acceptance testing in the staging environment
  • Code Implementation: Migrating certified code changes into production and monitoring through stabilization
  • Documentation maintenance (15% of time): Maintaining technical documentation, including procedures and support materials; Maintaining change control documentation
  
  

Expectations

• Analyze and develop changes required for Supply Chain solutions which include:
• Updating existing WebLogic solutions to Java 8
• Updating existing batch solutions to Java 17
• Migrate all remaining batch solutions to RHEL
• Perform TFS to DevOps source code migration if needed
• Build out DevOps pipelines
• Test and validate changes in partnership with support teams
• Implement and monitor changes throughout stabilization period

Skill set

• Minimum two years hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic Server
• Minimum three years experience with Java 17 or latest version
• Minimum three years experience with DevOps and pipeline deployments
• Minimum five years experience with REST web services
• Minimum five years experience with Spring and Spring Batch framework
• Minimum five years experience with Angular
• Experience with UNIX, MQ and Oracle a plus
• Experience upgrading Java 8 to Java 17

Residency and work authorization

• Must live permanently in the US, and have US Citizenship or a Green Card with no work restrictions.
• Must reside in the US.

• Five years experience with Spring and Spring Batch framework
• Five years experience with Angular
• Five years experience with REST web services
• Three years experience with Java 17 or latest version
• Three years experience with DevOps and pipeline deployments
• Two years hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic Server
• Experience with UNIX, MQ and Oracle a plus
• Experience upgrading Java 8 to Java 17
• Experience in writing and maintaining technical documentation
• Experience with AGILE methodology
• Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Education

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience is required.
