As a Quantum Architect, you will be at the forefront of developing scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing systems, shaping the next era of computing. This role requires deep expertise in quantum information theory, error correction, and advanced simulation techniques to design solutions that can sustain utility-scale performance. You will collaborate with world-class scientists and engineers to create robust architectures capable of powering groundbreaking applications across industries. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering mission with global impact, combining cutting-edge research, high-performance computing, and large-scale engineering.

Accountabilities
  • Design and develop new fault-tolerance methods for FBQC using linear optical primitives.
  • Create and simulate advanced decoding methods for quantum systems.
  • Model the origin and propagation of quantum errors to improve system resilience.
  • Benchmark and evaluate protocols for scalability and fault-tolerance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align research with system architecture goals.
  • Drive innovation and contribute to the development of future quantum data centers and computing platforms.
Requirements
  • Degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science required; PhD in quantum information theory or quantum computation strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of academic or industry research experience in quantum error correction and fault tolerance.
  • Solid knowledge of quantum information and familiarity with quantum networks, graph states, error-correcting codes, and linear optical quantum computing.
  • Experience with decoders for quantum error correction and ideally with quantum LDPC codes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++, with collaborative development tools (e.g., GitHub).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across departments, sites, and time zones.
  • Independent, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Remote candidates from the U.S. and Australia will also be considered.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and expertise.
  • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge quantum computing projects with global impact.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote options in certain locations.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment with equal opportunity policies.
  • Career growth in a pioneering, high-impact sector.
