Overview

Wind Turbine Technician - Kawailoa Wind Farm: Oahu, HI USA. This role is responsible for the service and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at Kawailoa wind farm on the island of Oahu, HI. The position has a home wind farm site but will also be part of a mobile team that supports another site in Hawaii as needed. Provide excellent service to customers and respond effectively in stressful or hazardous situations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the improvement of new and updated field procedures and standard methodologies.
• Perform work inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height up to 300 feet.
• Maintain composure and clear thinking during stressful or hazardous situations.
• Meet physical requirements: ladder climbing up to 300 feet, stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather.
• Capable of handling additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years in a relevant field. College degree or technical certificate in electrical/mechanical systems is desirable; combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Proven ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less may be required by safety regulations. Must pass a physical test to ensure ability to perform job functions and meet physical demands.
• Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a focus on quality; ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems including PLC programming and converters.
• Experience interacting with customers at various levels of responsibility.
• Travel up to 25% to other sites in Hawaii; travel to the mainland US for training as needed. Must be eligible for a valid Passport and Driver's License.
• Driving is an essential function; valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. DMV checks may occur during employment.

This job is based on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Details regarding benefits can be found here: The base salary range for this position in Oahu, Hawaii is $55,000.00 - $72,000.00. Selected candidates are also eligible to participate in a corporate Gainshare program. Offers are determined by experience, skills, certifications, and business needs.
