Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.
Job Summary
Provides coaching, encouragement, practical advice, and objective feedback to clients on the application of concepts, skills, or strategies associated with the practice of an academic or professional discipline.
Primary Responsibilities
·Review resumes, research, and update resume reviews to include current standards/expectations across industries and global regions.
·Outreach and assist students with career preparation, internship, and job search.
·Coordinate workshops, mock interviews, appointments.
·Assist students with Handshake registration and uploading required documents (i.e. resume, cover letter, other documents).
·Track student progress and maintain Handshake database.
·Assist with special events, such as Career Fair, information sessions, and on-campus recruiting.
·Receive and screen job postings from employers, reviews, and approves; maintain contacts and follow up when requested; post jobs on the department website.
·Greet visitors, answer phones, refer calls, and schedule appointments for department staff.
·Use office equipment, retrieve mail, e-mail, and direct inquiries.
·Oversee daily use of other web-based resources such as Vmock, Standout, the Ohana Network, and Handshake.
·Schedule appointments for staff and special events.
·Run reports as requested by department staff.
