Full Life is seeking a full-time Employment Program Coordinator to join our team at a dynamic non-profit organization on Hawaii Island. This position plays a critical role in supporting people with developmental and intellectual disabilities by managing services, supervising staff, and promoting person-centered, community-based support, job coaching/development, and supervising job coaches. This role also coordinates pre-employment transition services (Pre-ETS) for high school students with disabilities. Full Life is seeking a full-time Employment Services Coordinator to join our dynamic team at a flourishing non-profit organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities on Hawai'i Island. This position supports individuals island-wide and supervises staff providing employment-related services.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising Employment Services Direct Support Professionals
  • Providing ongoing job coaching services, including on-the-job training and systematic instruction
  • Leading person-centered employment planning
  • Facilitating job development, job carving, or customization
  • Negotiating with prospective employers
  • Supporting self-employment efforts, including business planning and identifying opportunities
  • Conducting worksite visits to assess and address individual or employer needs
  • Monitoring and evaluating individual job performance
  • Advising individuals on employment maintenance and problem-solving
  • Training participants in communicating work support and accommodation needs
  • Assessing need for basic job aids and referring for assistive technology services
  • Coordinating referrals for financial literacy and budgeting services
  • Providing information and training on benefits counseling
  • Training participants in using public or paratransit transportation
  • Supporting career advancement planning
  • Coordinating services with the Department of Education (DOE) and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)
  • Developing and implementing instruction for self-advocacy, work readiness training, job exploration counseling, and post-secondary education
  • Supporting students with career exploration and obtaining community-based work-based learning experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school is required. A degree in a related field is preferred.
  • If a bachelor's degree is outside of the Human Services or Education fields of study, one year of verifiable experience working with persons with disabilities is required.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred
Employment Requirements:
  • HI State criminal background check
  • CAN clearance
  • Negative TB clearance
  • CPR & First Aid certification
  • Valid driver's license and current insurance
  • Verification of education
