Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Reports to: Director of Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Construction Operations
Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000 annually (based on experience)

The Opportunity

Alpha Inc. is seeking a high-ownership, action-oriented Senior Project Manager to drive critical infrastructure and construction projects in West Hawaii. We're expanding our heavy civil footprint on the Big Island, and we need a seasoned pro to help us scale responsibly, safely, and with purpose.

As part of the Construction Operations team, you'll take the reins on complex, high-impact projects—guiding them from bid through close-out while keeping quality, budget, safety, and morale top of mind. You won't be handed a playbook—you'll be expected to help write it. And you'll do it alongside a team that values grit, trust, and big-picture thinking.

What You Will Do

Deliver Complex Projects with Precision

• Lead the full lifecycle of heavy civil and infrastructure projects in Kona—from estimate to final walkthrough.
• Develop and execute detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules that align with scope and stakeholder expectations.
• Proactively manage risk, anticipate challenges, and implement solutions that keep projects on track.

Lead High-Performing Teams

• Set clear expectations and guide superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors with purpose and accountability.
• Foster strong relationships and team cohesion both on-site and cross-functionally.
• Deliver honest feedback, celebrate wins, and cultivate an ownership mindset across crews.

Ensure Operational Excellence

• Enforce Alpha Inc.'s uncompromising safety standards across all phases of work.
• Monitor KPIs and field data to track cost, schedule, and performance—adjusting plans as needed.
• Interface with clients, agencies, and internal leaders to align on milestones, change orders, and communication protocols.

Drive Continuous Improvement

• Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement practical fixes.
• Capture and share lessons learned to elevate team performance on future projects.
• Support systems-level improvements that strengthen Alpha's scalability in West Hawaii.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of project management experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or utility construction.
• Proven track record of delivering multi-million dollar public or private sector projects on time and on budget.
• Deep familiarity with construction scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and project documentation.
• Strong command of safety protocols, quality control, and Hawaii regulatory standards.
• High EQ and leadership presence—you lead with clarity, accountability, and respect.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, or construction software is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field .
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Skills & Experience

• Experience working in Hawaii or other island-based construction environments.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, HCSS, or other project management platforms.
• Union workforce or public works project management experience.
• OSHA 30, PMP, or other relevant certifications a plus.
