Job Overview

The Senior Maintenance Technician is a journeyman-level position responsible for performing a variety of tasks including carpentry, preventative maintenance, repair, and operation of buildings, equipment, utility systems, grounds, and hospital systems. The full scope of duties ensures a safe, reliable, and efficient environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This position offers opportunities to cross-train and grow your skillset within the team.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that is benefits eligible. The pay range is $31.20 - $42.30 hourly, based on experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and problem-solve with the team on repairs, maintenance, and applications of equipment regarding timelines and workload.
  • Respond promptly to trouble and emergency calls; complete work orders efficiently.
  • Keep technical and safety training current.
  • Become knowledgeable of NFPA and The Joint Commission codes and standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment such as pumps, boilers, water heaters, kitchen equipment, air handlers, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.
  • Maintain the plumbing circulation system and recreation therapy pool.
  • Inspect fire sprinkler pumps and related components to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, locate parts, and obtain repair quotes.
  • Review blueprints, electrical drawings, and engineering plans; understand OSHA and safety requirements.
  • Review O&M manuals to identify parts, service methods, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Utilize a CMMS to maintain maintenance and repair records and estimates.
  • Operate machinery and tools with attention to safety and detail.
  • Perform other duties and participate in projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Seeking strong experience in:

  • Building maintenance, trade, or construction - 4 years (preferred)
  • Carpentry experience, including work on cabinets, walls, doors, and hardware
  • Commercial plumbing - 1 year
  • Refrigeration - 2 years
  • Hospital/healthcare environment - 1 year (preferred)
  • Valid Hawaii Driver's License (required)
